Standards, accreditation and quality: Towards a new paradigm.

Educational interventions including those involving simulation based education are viewed as soft options for tackling patient safety and improving quality of care. The plenary session will explore the challenges faced by simulation education and potential solutions. Could the wider adoption of evidence based practices and standards improve the quality of simulation offerings to our learners? Could accreditation models act as quality assurance vehicles to engage and uplift simulation communities to higher levels of performance? These and several other questions will be explored to tackle current and future challenges of simulation based education.
